This year's Oscars were hosted by Chris Rock. He hosted it for the second time since 2005. This year however, the viewer count was drastically lower, with only 34.3 million viewers unlike in 2005 when it was 42.1 million. The highest viewer count for the Oscars was in 2004 when 'Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King' won and was hosted by Billy Crystal; there were 43.5 million viewers!

Leonardo DiCaprio took the Oscar graciously and as well as thanking his friends he also reminded everyone of the environment! What a guy...

And there was also Chris Rock's monologue. After the controversy about the slightly 'racist' awards, I felt Chris handled the situation fine. He embedded both jokes and facts into his monologue making ti both entertaining and interesting to watch. Check it out...

AND what's more is that he sold girl scout cookies TOO!

Sneak Peak at Lucifer episode 6: 'Favorite Son'!

With Lucifer's sixth episode coming out this Monday on 29th February, FOX has released its episode promo trailer! Check it out below...

Initially, Lucifer is bored with his and Detective Decker's biker gang murder case. However, this soon changes as he convinces her to let him back onto the case!

As it turns out, in this episode, Lucifer has had something of great value stolen from him. As Maze emphasizes "THE container". It apparently has something which Lucifer wants back really badly as it was a gift from his father: God, so it is probably something very important. In the promo it seems as if it affects Maze too as she is off trying to get Lucifer back to Hell and seems to be helping him... even knocking out Detective Douche, as seen at the end!

Be sure to like and share! Also check out my post about the episode 5 and Maze's true face!

London Has Fallen: Coming soon!

The sequel to Olympus Has Fallen is coming next month on 3rd March. When Olympus Has Fallen came out in 2013, there was also White House Down which was another secret spy coming out in the exact same year. Both films were about attacks on the White House and the American president but Olympus Has Fallen seemed to do better grossing about $160 million. Hence the sequel for it!

Check out the trailer below...

Similar to its predecessor, the film is filled with action and gunfights surrounding Secret Service agent Mike Banning (played by Gerard Butler) and President Benjamin Asher (played by Aaron Eckhart). After the British Prime Minister dies, his funeral is used as a target for a terrorist organization. Mike Banning, given the mission to protect the President by Secret Service Director Lynn Jacobs (played by Angela Bassett), and President Benjamin Asher must stop them before it is too late but this time they have help in the form of an MI6 agent (played by Charlotte Riley). And of course this film can't be complete without Morgan Freeman as the vice-president of the USA!

Olympus Has Fallen got many mixed reviews and it ratings were 6.5/10- IMDb, 48% Rotten Tomatoes, 41% Metacritic. In this respect it can be seen that London Has Fallen will probably continue the same level due to a very similar plot and story. But we never know!

If you haven't seen Olympus Has Fallen be sure to check out the trailer below...

Be sure to keep lookout for my next post where I'll be reviewing my very first film! It's a new thing for me so be sure to tell me any areas for improvement.

A demon's true intentions: Maze shows herself!

After Lucifer episode 5's release two days ago, I've been more interested in this show than ever. With Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) beginning to become obsessed with his own mortality and the possibility of him becoming mortal and maybe even dying, Maze's (played by Lesley-Ann Brandt) concern is growing.

After episode 4, when Maze had an encounter with Lucifer's brother and fellow angel, Amenadiel (played by D B Woodside), it was obvious that she would begin to have second thoughts about coming to Los Angeles from Hell with Lucifer.

But I wasn't expecting this. She blames Lucifer's changes on Detective Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) and the episode ended with Mazikeen's true face being shown observing the detective in her sleep. Not the extremely gorgeous and lovable face of Maze that we know... but the alter ego, the darker demon that lurks beneath her.

If you're already watching this series be sure to tell me how you find it! If you just found out about it be sure to check out my last post about Lucifer episode 2 here!

'Winter is Trumping': Game of Thrones Mashup!

Everyone knows the series Game of Thrones and I'm sure most of you are vigilantly waiting for the new season to come out this April. But the spoof which was recently released released by imaginative Youtuber, Huw Parkinson, is a way of quenching your thirst for more while you wait!

The mashup shows Donald's head being placed on the characters of the TV show itself and the talks have been taken out of his presidential speeches. Funny thing is... they work perfectly in context with what is going on in Westeros...

I guess the GOP candidate is rising to even greater heights, as he's set his eyes on Westeros after he attempts get control of USA. He fits right in!

Just how funny is Sacha Baron Cohen? Ridiculously graphic 'Grimsby' teaser clip!

We all know that actors go and promote their films all over the world but this may just be one of the best teasers for a film that has ever been shown. Recently, on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Sacha showed a clip from his new film 'The Brothers Grimsby' that was SO graphic that it couldn't even be shown on broadcast.

Check it out...

Sacha also showed at the Jonathon Ross Show on which Stephen Fry said "I thought I was going to have an asthma attack!" After all, this is the clip that nearly gave the film an NC-17 rating but after talks it ended up being R-rated instead!

Apparently, the clip shows the brothers escaping by hiding inside an elephant. Unfortunately, the elephant begins to have sex with another elephant! So they attempt to speed up the process... successfully!

In some ways this kind of put me off watching the film. But then again, who can miss a film from the famous Dictator/ Borat/ Ali G. Just another release from one of the comedy kings. So I am totally looking forward to watching the film! Great marketing Sacha!

In case you didn't see my post with the real trailer for the film- click here

Be sure to tell me what your thoughts on the new film are below.

Deadpool absolutely WRECKING box office records!

"From the studio that inexplicably sewed his mouth shut the first time, comes... me!"
Deadpool

Remember when most film companies were putting off making Deadpool into a film? Well aren't they regretting it now. I bet Deadpool is just waving his backside to them through the film too.

In its opening weekend it grossed over $135 million. It broke Fifty Shades of Grey's weekend gross by nearly $45 million and also crushed the previous R-rated film opening record by The Matrix Reloaded, set in 2003, of $91.7 million. Also the last R-rated record of a comic adaptation was set by the 300 with $70.8 million. Well we can say that they aren't feeling the love this Valentines.

Of-course it did certainly have some very good reviews. It even got Betty White's seal of approval so I'm totally there in the cinema now...

It was also the largest ever opening weekend for the 20th Century Fox. Their previous record was held by 'Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith' which was $108 million but Deadpool crushed this record too. It also made a giant $125 million worldwide too.

The film itself has been #1 in the charts this week with 'How to be Single' coming in #2. Other new films will be released soon but there doesn't seem to be any competition for next week or the week after so it is most likely that Deadpool will reign king!

Ratings:

IMDb: 8.7/10
Metacritic: 64%
RottenTomatoes: 84%

AND its only going to go up from here!

Be sure to comment your thoughts if you saw Deadpool this weekend too!

X-men Apocalypse! Trailer released!

The trailer for the new X-men Apocalypse film was released at the Super Bowl last week! Check it out below...

The has an official release date of 27th May 2016 and will have most of the mutants in it, although they will be their younger selves, apart from Wolverine. We are still unsure whether Wolverine will actually be in this film bu there are also talks about making a new solo Wolverine film.

The plot is that the very first immortal mutant, Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac) was once worshiped as a god is now awake again. He recruits Magneto (played by Michael Fassbender) to help him create a civilization under his control. Professor Xavier (played by James McAvoy) and Mystique (played by Jennifer Lawrence) attempt to save the world with the help of a team of mutants.

Mutants that also appear include Jean Grey, Storm, Psylocke, Cyclops, Beast, Nightcrawler, Gambit, Havoc, Quicksilver and many more.

New Jason Bourne Trailer released!

Even though the film has no name, the release date has been decided!

The new film was officially announced at the Superbowl two days ago and the trailer was released yesterday. Check it out below...

Directed by Paul Greengrass the film will be out in 29 July this year. It stars Matt Damon (as Jason Bourne obviously), Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons but new faces are also being introduced. Tommy Lee Jones is going to be Robert Dewey the CIA director while Alicia Vikander whose character is yet to be released will be a cyber technology operative and Vincent Cassel as well as others.

The plot is yet to be released but in an interview Matt Damon stated that this film would answer the unanswered questions and "completes the journey" from the first three films in the franchise. The film started filming last year in areas like Berlin and as with the first films Matt Damon himself works in the fight scenes.

Alvin and the Chipmunk: The Road Chip! Another 'squeakquel'!

The very successful chipmunk franchise has finally released its fourth film! It was released just before Christmas on 4th December 2015. Directed by Walt Becker it had a budget of $90 million but made a profit in the box office with $155.4 million!

Even I didn't know about it a few weeks before the release!

Check out the trailer...

The plot is basically that the chipmunks feel scared that a wedding is on the way when Dave Seville's (played by Jason Lee) relationship with Samantha (played by Kimberly Williams-Paisley) is in full swing. So when Dave goes to Miami to propose his record to artist Ashley Grey (played by Bella Thorne) with Samantha, the chipmunks get onto a plane to follow him and sabotage his apparent 'proposal'. On the way there, they are chased by Air Marshall James Suggs (played by Tony Hale). Of course as you expect, Dave never intended to propose so the chipmunk caused so much trouble over nothing... AGAIN!

Ratings:

IMDb: 4.1/10
RottenTomatoes: 20%
Metacritic: 33%

In my opinion, despite such negative ratings the film itself is great fun to watch. It is a perfect family comedy film which is agreeable to all ages of people. Definitely something I would recommend based on its predecessors!

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice!

Directed by Zack Snyder, the film will finally be released on 26th March in the UK and USA. It was previously meant to be released in 2004 but Warner Bros. never really got around to it so we are looking forward to this one. It is 2 hours 31 minuted long and has a supposed budget of $200 million. It will be the first film to have both Superman and Batman going head to head.

But from the trailer it seems the money was put to good use...

Not much is known about the plot for this film but as far as we know, after the events of 'The Man of Steel' the US government has finally allied itself with Superman (aka Clark Kent or Kal-El played by Henry Cavill) when he returns. But battle-weary Batman (aka Bruce Wayne played by Ben Affleck) travels from Gotham holding Superman responsible for the events.

There are some theories that this film will lead to the construction of the Justice League as the animated series has shown to be made by all the DC superheroes together. Furthermore, we know that Wonder Woman (aka Diana Prince played by Gal Gadot), Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenberg), Lois Lane (played by Amy Adams), Aquaman (played by Jason Momoa), Alfred J Pennyworth (played by Jeremy Irons), Cyborg (aka Victor Stone played by Ray Fisher) and Flash (played by Ezra Miller) will also be in the film.

So which side are you on?

TED 2: Who said bears aren't alive?

Wishes make things so much more likely to happen.

Ted 2 is such a heartwarming story that  I was moved to tears... with laughter mostly though. Despite the warm and cute teddy bear it is not a story for young children due to certain R rated jokes...

Thunder buddies John (played by Mark Wahlberg) and Ted (the teddy voiced by Seth McFarlane) as back at it again. Despite John being a bachelor after his breakup from Lori (played by Mila Kunis), he is very happy that Ted is now wed to Tami-Lynn (played by Jessica Barth). But there is a problem... they can't have a child...

Of course they go to the next best option: adoption! But Ted is not officially recognized as a human by the State so they can't do that either. So guess what they do... they fight it by getting a lawyer Samantha Jackson (aka Sam. L. Jackson played by Amanda Seyfried) who is constantly compared to Golem.

Source: www.newslocker.com

With certain cameos from Liam Neeson, Tom Brady and Jimmy Kimmel. And Donny (played by Giovanni Ribisi) is back, and even more evil than ever!

Ratings:

IMDb: 7/10
RottenTomatoes: 67%
Metacritic: 62%

Who can't love this fuzzy teddy?

Kung Fu Panda 3! Coming soon to the UK!

After its highly successful periodic releases across the world, the third film in the 'Kung Fu Panda' franchise is finally coming to the UK. After its releases it has already had an incredible impact on the other countries with brilliant reviews and very positive ratings. It's set to be released on 11th March and has a running time of 1 hour 35 minutes!

Check out the trailer which keeps me alive till its release...

With Po (played by Jack Black) becoming very comfortable with his life, the one thing he never expects is about to happen. His dad Li (played by Bryan Cranston) is here! Together they go a secret panda village where Po meets his family. Master Shifu (played by Dustin Hoffman) tells Po that he need to move from a master to a teacher. With the release of the chi master Kai (played by J K Simmons), who is out to kill all the pandas, Po must teach his fellow pandas kung fu and protect those he loves.

The film further stars Angelina Jolie as Tigress, Jackie Chan as Monkey, Seth Rogen as Mantis, Lucy Liu as Viper, David Cross as Crane, Kate Hudson as Mei Mei, James Hong as Mr Ping and Randall Duk Kim reappearing as Master Oogway!

Ratings:

IMDb: 8/10
RottenTomatoes: 80%
Metacritic: 64%

With ratings like these I can't wait for the film to come out in the UK so I can finally watch it! Comment below on how you found it if you've watched it already.

Was 'The Last Witch Hunter' really that bad?

Check out the trailer below for a first impression...

The film, directed by Breck Eisner, was released on 23rd October 2015 in the USA with a running time of 1 hour and 46 minutes. Its New York City premiere was held 13th October 2015 at the Loews Lincoln Square. Its box office gained about $126 million during its release by Lionsgate. Unfortunately, reviews have not been very good.

For those who still have not seen it, the plot is essentially that many hundreds of years before present time a witch hunter Kaulder (played by Vin Diesel) slayed the all-powerful Witch Queen (played by Julie Engelbrecht). Before dying she cursed him to immortality so he lost his family in the wind of time and was unable to meet them again in the afterlife. From that day forward Kaulder always had a Dolan to record his activities.

Now in present day the Witch Queen is once again rising. The 36th Dolan (played by Michael Caine) is retiring and choosing the 37th Dolan (played by Elijah Wood). Sadly, he is killed, as found out by Kaulder and the 37th Dolan, by a witch called Belial (played by Olafur Darri Olafsson). When hunting Belial they receive the assistance of  Chloe (played by Rose Leslie) who's friend was also killed by that witch. As it turns out, Belial intends to be the sacrifice for the revival of the Witch Queen, who is still alive as her life is linked to Kaulder. The trio are able to kill Belial however the Witch Queen is revived by the sacrifice of another witch.

During the final fight, Kaulder is about to kill the Witch Queen and himself to end this once and for all but he is stopped by Chloe saying that the world still needs a witch hunter. The endings shows the heart of the Witch Queen still beating as Kaulder is still alive...

Ratings:

IMDb: 6/10
RottenTomatoes: 16%
Metacritic: 34%

Personally, I didn't find the film all too bad. Sure the plot twists were a bit predictable and cliche and the acting could've been better slightly, but sure it didn't deserve such negative reviews did it? Be sure to leave a comment about what you think and follow for more!

From Borat...comes The Brothers Grimsby!

The Brothers Grimsby, the latest film of absolutely hilarious British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen is being released next month on 11 March! Sacha Baron Cohen is the man who was Ali G (from 'Ali G Indahouse') and Borat (from Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan') and even the Dictator (from 'The Dictator').

Star Wars VIII Postponed!

Disney has officially decided to postpone the release of Star Wars to 15 December 2017. It was originally meant to be released on 26 May 2017 however due to the studios wanting to do similar end-of-year release like 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', they postponed it till Christmas. Instead of Star Wars VIII being released in March, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' is being moved up by Disney from 7 July 2017 to 26 May 2016.

Who knows maybe this will increase the views or possible even multiply them. But then again 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' which also followed this schedule did very well. It became one of the largest grossing films in history while also making a box office of $1.961 billion. If 'Star Wars VIII' follows the example set by its prequel, everyone working on it will suddenly be a whole lot richer!
It's ratings were similarly high:
IMDb: 8.4/10
RottenTomatoes: 92%
Metacritic: 81%

Nothing has been released by Disney about the plot itself, however one of the actors, namely C3-PO, did threaten to release some information. He was quickly shut up by the director of the film Rian Johnson in the form of a small memory from the prequels...Or perhaps a sign that Han may be coming back from the dead, just to shut up C3-PO...

Despite Disney keeping everything hush! hush! a few small details have been discovered by very observant fans. It appears that Gwendoline Christie will reappear as Captain Phasma, although no-one is certain what she will do after escaping the destruction of the Death Star: will she be branded a traitor or will she continue to work for the First Order? Gwendoline Christie's characters are known to be strong survivalists such as her  'Game of Thrones' character Brienne of Tarth on which she performed brilliantly! She certainly deserves a longer amount of showtime in the new film.

Another person who need a longer amount of showtime is none other that Luke Skywalker (played by, as I'm sure you all knew, Mark Hamill). We only saw him standing on the island in the last scene of 'The Force Awaken' so in the new film we are expecting more action from one of the last Jedi.

Dirty Grandpa: In Cinema!

Another much anticipated film which probably isn't doing so well after its release, like Ride Along 2, is probably Dirty Grandpa. Starring Zac Efron, Robert DeNiro, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Pally, Zoey Deutch and others the film is about a very strict lawyer, Jason Kelly, (played by Zac  Efron) who is about to get married to his boss' daughter (Julianne Hough). At his grandmother's funeral, his grandfather, Dick (played by Robert DeNiro) asks him to drive him home to Florida.

On the journey they end up going to Daytona Beach, Florida while also meeting old classmates of Jason, Shadia and Lenore and Bradley. Through their time at Daytona many incidents occur such as drugs, jail time and various encounters with a gang which is continuously beaten off by Dick. Furthermore, with Dick putting himself back 'out there' and flirting with any girls around, there are many incidents caused. The film depicts the relationship between Jason and his grandfather which is not so close in the beginning but gets very strong by the end of the film.

Check out the trailer...

Personally, I thought the film would be great since it would be the kind of funny film which had a deeper meaning that meant a lot to the viewers. But now, looking at the reviews, I think they might've put the pressure on the comedy in the film more than the actual deeper meaning that I was expecting.

In the end, the pair are actually very close with Jason even breaks off his engagement to confess his feeling for Shadia. In the mid-credits it's shown that Dick and Lenore have a son, who is Jason's uncle, but Jason and Shadia are his godparents.

Ratings:

IMDb: 5.9/10
Metacritic: 18%
RottenTomatoes: 9%

As you can see the ratings are not very. So tell me in the comments how you felt about the film or follow me for more updates on films and TV shows too.
